Carriacou Medical Relief

X-RAY MACHINE URGENTLY NEEDED: As a resident of the tiny island of Carriacou in the West Indies, I urgently appeal for your support. On 1st July 2024, Hurricane Beryl, a hurricane bordering on Category 5, devastated this island, wiping out 98% of the homes and buildings, including the hospital, pharmacies, and healthcare facilities. Although rebuilding is ongoing, it is going to take many years to recover adequate services. Islanders are exhausted and still traumatized as they struggle to rebuild and accidents and frequent, so the whole island is in desperate need of adequate health care and the necessary supplies. On the ground, Minister Enoch Cadore and his wife, Sheena, a Registered nurse have worked with the charity ‘Samaritans Purse’ to distribute tarpaulins and solar lights and to set up a field hospital to treat the injured and sick. Despite these efforts, they urgently need medical supplies and equipment and personal care packs that will sustain nursing staff as they go through this difficult time. We have nursing personnel in the UK and USA standing by to acquire, package, and send in barrels, all medical supplies and urgent items such as mosquito repellant, toiletries and care packs. We will not give the funds directly to the hospital but instead purchase equipment and supplies that are urgently required as told to us directly by nursing staff. The most recent need is for an X-RAY MACHINE (as the existing one was damaged when rain flooded through the roof when it was damaged in Hurricane Beryl) which we are fundraising for currently. As things stand, if a patient needs an X-ray, they have to go down to Grenada as there are no other X-ray services on island; a painful 2 hour boat trip for most patients. 100% goes to purchases and shipping costs. PLEASE PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN AND SHARE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. You can give in any currency.. follow the links. Bless you, and thank you so much.

Help Bring Damian Home: A Fight for Recovery

Damian Clouden is a beloved New York-based carpenter who originally hails from Carriacou, Grenada. After Category 4 Hurricane Beryl devastated his homeland of Carriacou on July 1, 2024, nearly every resident lost their home, including Damian’s family. Homes were reduced to rubble, schools were destroyed, and many of our island's residents found themselves homeless. Determined to help, Damian traveled back to Carriacou on July 23 to assist in rebuilding efforts, restoring WiFi to the village, and repairing damaged buildings. Tragically, while working in Carriacou, Damian fell from the roof of a two-story building due to a faulty board, suffering a fractured skull and traumatic brain injuries. Now hospitalized in Grenada, he requires specialized treatment that is unavailable locally. Doctors advise he cannot fly commercially, and a medical evacuation to New York is extremely costly. Damian is a devoted father to three young children—an 11-year-old, a 6-year-old, and a 9-month-old—who are waiting for him to return home. We urgently need your support to help alleviate the costs of his evacuation and extensive medical care. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help bring Damian home to his family and ensure he receives the treatment he needs to heal. Please consider donating to Damian’s GoFundMe. Your generosity will make a meaningful impact on his recovery and reunite him with his family and loved ones. Thank you for your support and God bless you! Tap here to support!
