The Stork Residence
Historic SitesOnce owned by the Stork family, this house was home to George Bull and later the McClure family who converted it to a funeral home. Christopher Stork was a well-known businessman in Brampton during the mid-to-late 1800s and also served in municipal politics. Although changes have been made to accommodate the funeral home in the 1930s and 1970s, the home still has some interesting features. The home is an important part of a row of estates along Main Street South that characterise the streetscape. Features of the home that are still intact include the dormer window on the third floor, paired brackets at the eaves, and the bay window.
